Nelson Miranda (Portugal, 1979) Bachelors degree in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of University of Porto (FAUP, 2004). Master a degree in the same institution (FAUP, 2011). Balances work as an architect with the development of photographic projects, primarily focused on the documentation of objects and built environment landscapes. Attended some photography courses, namely “From Idea to Project” under the guidance of Virgílio Ferreira, in The Portuguese Centre of Photography. His work has been the target of growing curiosity, having been selected for several exhibition and editorial projets, namely “Reclaiming Our Future” - Reclaim Photography Festival (West Midlands, UK, 2018), “The Print Swap” curated by Alexa Becker (Berlin Blue Art gallery, Berlin, DE, 2018), “Fundação Lar do Emigrante Português no Mundo” - Foundation for Portuguese Emigrants in the World - (Espaço Campanhã, Porto, 2017), “Duplicado” (Duplicated) and “Territórios” (Territories) (Adorna Corações Gallery, Porto, 2016 and 2014) and “Visual Narratives: European Capital of Culture Guimarães 2012” (FAUP, Porto, 2013). In 2013 received a honorable mention in “International Photography Narrative Contest Cityscopio”. His work is already represented in private collections, namely in US, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
